LIVE EAST – a magazine by young people, for young people – is beginning a series of free Introduction to Journalism workshops for people aged between 12 and 22 years old.

Workshops will be running for six weeks with the same workshop repeated on Wednesday afternoons and Friday afternoons. The first cycle runs from Friday February 12th from 3pm. The second cycle runs from Wednesday February 17th from 3pm. Each workshop is around an hour and a half long.

Topics covered include: news reporting, writing reviews, comment features, specialist features and a 12-step guide to writing a killer interview.

The workshops will be based in the offices of LIVE EAST magazine so you'll get to make use of what you learn in a practical environment and get the chance to have your workshop work published in LIVE EAST or LIVE EAST online.

This is a quick and easy way to get a really solid grounding in all aspects of journalism and you can get OCNR accreditation (Level 2 and possibly Level 3) for completing the course.
