As Edge's online editor you will play a key role in the evolution of the most prestigious brand in gaming media, working to develop its internet publishing strategy as part of a dedicated team.
You will build on Edge Online's position as a leading source for international game industry news, features and commentary, growing its readership and upholding Edge's editorial values and style. Responding to and leading the global news agenda, you will conceive, research, commission and schedule features, reviews, previews and interviews for the website. Managing contributors will form a large part of the role, though you will also have the opportunity to write features and news, and meet and work with game industry leaders. Collaborating with publishers and sales teams, you will integrate commercial initiatives on the website and manage the implementation of the next stage of Edge Online's advancement as an integral part of the brand.
Required Experience:
Passionate about games and the Edge brand, you will have an extensive knowledge of the videogame industry and its history, and preferably have a wide network of game industry contacts.
Experience of working in web publishing at section editor, deputy editor or editor level is essential for the role. In addition, you will have excellent writing and subbing skills. Web coding skills and experience of managing online communities are also advantages, but not essential. You will possess excellent organisational and planning skills, as well as the ability to work to daily deadlines.
