We are currently seeking an experienced market reporter on a permanent basis to boost our coverage of the European carbon markets for a professional and predominantly European readership.

The main focus of this position will be reporting market relevant news online, plus contributing to our various magazine and newsletter publications. The successful candidate will be able to identify and break market-moving stories and link developments in the European emissions trading scheme to European power prices.

As a reporter with Montel’s editorial team you will be encouraged to develop our unique market coverage, shape your own daily news beat, and be at the forefront of what’s driving the markets. Backed by Montel’s extensive online market data, the position also offers the successful candidate the opportunity to dedicate him/herself nearly exclusively to news stories and features, as opposed to doing price assessments.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the European CO2 market, ideally coupled with knowledge of related commodities markets.
• Substantial journalism experience, preferably with a newswire service.
• Native-level written English. Other foreign languages would be a big plus.
• Initiative and ability to generate high-quality copy to a house style under constant deadline pressure.
